What I would like to talk to you about today is the importance of detox. By definition what is detox? Detox is stated has the body’s natural way of processing, naturalizing, or eliminating toxins from our body. Alcohol is considered a toxin, so are opiates, benzos, cocaine, marijuana, oxycontin, oxys, and any other drugs of choose that people do or use out there. It is considered to be the first and probably the most important steps in a recovery process. The first few days of detoxing your body it is said that without your drug of choose (alcohol, opiates, benzos, cocaine, marijuana, oxycontin, oxys) the body will go through a mental and physical deterioration, draining, and break down. Self well and determination will not be enough. Many people who attempt recovery by skipping through the detox process, say that I’m a tuff man, I’m a tuff person, I can do this, I have the will, I have the motivation. What usually happens is that they stay at home and they sit there and they go through agonizing pain, unnecessary pain, because they need to tuff it out. Why because there once was some sort of a stigma or preconception about what detox is.
