Question by peebles: starting to get worried about swine flu?
Ok my friend lives in Milwaukee… and 3 people have died now.. TWO of the three (so more than half) did NOT have underlying health conditions that puts them at risk for serious side effects of the flu.

Does that mean this flu is now killing healthy people?

has the regular seasonal flu killed otherwise healthy people?

this is starting to get worrisome.

Yes I believe that the regular seasonal flu has killed healthy people, though a rare occurance. Usually impacts people with an underlying health issue. The problem with the swine flu is that because it is a new strain, we humans have not built up an immunity to it like we have with other flu types. Yes it is worrying, but no point in panicking, take precautions – cover your mouth when coughing/sneezing, wash hands regularly (particularly after contact with surfaces othe people may have touched). Avoid contact with people displaying flu-like symptoms.
